Our Story

Kevin and Ruth’s story began on August 2, 2025, through a simple family gathering. Neither of them knew then that God was beginning something that would eventually lead them toward marriage.

In the months that followed, they were not in constant communication, but their conversations often centered on prayer. They would ask how they could pray for one another, and little by little, the Lord was building a quiet foundation between them.

In January 2026, Kevin came to the Philippines with his mother. On January 25, Kevin attended Ruth’s church. At that point, Ruth was simply grateful for his presence and was not yet expecting where their story would lead.

Behind the scenes, however, Kevin had already been praying seriously about Ruth. On January 31, without Ruth knowing, he respectfully approached her parents and asked for their blessing to pursue her with clear intentions. Then, on February 2, Kevin opened his heart to Ruth. Rather than asking for a casual relationship, he invited her to begin a serious, prayerful journey toward marriage. His intentions were clear and God-honoring, giving Ruth the peace and assurance she had been praying for. With a heart trusting the Lord’s leading, Ruth said yes to beginning that journey with him.

On February 18, Kevin went back home to Canada, and their relationship became long-distance. Though the separation was difficult, they continued trusting the Lord and seeking Him throughout their relationship.

In April 2026, Ruth traveled to Canada with her parents and her older sister. Little did Kevin and Ruth know that the Lord would use those five months as a season of confirmation. Through everyday life, time with family, prayer, and getting to know one another more deeply, Kevin and Ruth gained greater assurance about the path God had been leading them on.

Then, on July 2, 2026, Kevin proposed to Ruth.

The man who had first asked Ruth to begin a journey toward marriage was now asking her to become his wife and once again, Ruth said yes.

Looking back, Kevin and Ruth’s story unfolded through prayer, family, distance, patience, intentionality, and God’s perfect timing. What began as an unexpected meeting became a beautiful journey toward a lifetime together.
